Official Sweepstakes Rules
By entering this Sweepstakes, each entrant accepts and agrees to be bound by these Official Rules.
You are entering to win one of three (3) WordPress 20th anniversary swag kits with up to $100 USD worth of swag from the WordPress Foundation.
1. Who Can Enter and How to Enter
You must be at least 18 years of age, or the legal age of majority where you live, to enter. You don’t have to buy anything to enter.
We will accept entries beginning on March 15, 2023 at 15:00 UTC and ending on April 17, 2023 at 03:59 UTC.
To enter, you must either:
- Color your own Wapuu and share it on Twitter with the #WapuuWP20 hashtag.
- Email us at wapuucontest@wordpressfoundation.org with “#WapuuWP20” as your subject line.
Only one entry per person will be accepted, regardless of how you choose to enter. Entries may be rejected and disqualified if they’re incomplete, fraudulent, abusive, or don’t comply with these Official Rules.
Employees of Automattic Inc. and the WordPress Foundation are not eligible to enter.
2. Winner Selection and Notification
On or around April 17, 2023 we will randomly select three (3) winners from all eligible entries. The odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received. The method of entry and content of your submission will not affect your chance of winning. So color (or don’t color) your Wapuu in whatever way you like.
We’ll attempt to reach the winners by email or a reply to your social media post, depending on how you submitted your entry. If we don’t hear back from the winners within 72 hours, we’ll move on to the next randomly-selected winner.
Winners are solely responsible for payment of all applicable taxes.
3. Third-party Sites
If we promote this Sweepstakes on third-party sites, we may consider your entry ineligible if you don’t comply with the guidelines, policies, or terms of the respective third party. We may block you or prevent you from accessing this Sweepstakes and/or our profiles.
You agree to release and hold the third-party sites harmless from any or all claims, liability, damages, judgments, fines, costs, expenses related to or associated with your participation in this Sweepstakes.
4. Etc. Etc.
All applicable federal, state, and local laws apply. Void where taxed, restricted, or prohibited. You agree to release, discharge, and hold us (the WordPress Foundation) harmless from and against any and all liability, loss, injuries, or damages associated with participation in this Sweepstakes or receipt of any prizes in this Sweepstakes.
By entering, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, transferable, sub-licensable, and non-exclusive license to use, reproduce, modify, distribute, adapt, publicly display, and publish the entry materials.
We reserve the right to make changes to these Official Rules in our sole discretion, and any changes will become effective upon announcement. We’d hate for this to happen, but we reserve the right to cancel or terminate this Sweepstakes for any reason if it cannot be run or administered as we intended.
5. Privacy
Any personal information collected as part of this Sweepstakes will be handled in accordance with the WordPress.org Privacy Policy (https://wordpress.org/about/privacy/).
