Reminder: Organize a WP20 Celebration or Join One Already Scheduled

On May 27, 2023, WordPress enthusiasts around the globe will be celebrating all things WordPress and marking 20 years since the first version shipped.

View this page to see if there’s a WordPress celebration in your locale that you can join. If not, and you’d like to organize one in your community, here is some useful information to help you get started – it’s not too late!

Each celebration will reflect the personality and passion of its respective community. Some events will include refreshments (share photos of your WordPress-inspired cake decorations on social media!) Others will include trivia about WordPress, discussions on topics related to the past, present, and future of WordPress, and even commemorative merchandise. Have your meetup participants record and share birthday videos for WordPress on social media, like this one from Josepha Haden Chomposy, WordPress’s Executive Director.

Organizers and participants can download selfie props to use for taking photos during the celebration and sharing them on social media with the hashtag “#WP20“.

In the weeks leading up to May 27, 2023, there will be additional ways to celebrate – by sharing your photos from past WordPress events, your favorite WordPress swag, and acknowledging the hard work of the contributors across 21 teams.
